Tow truck collides with cyclists in Flagstaff intersection
A tow truck passed a red light and collided with a group of cyclists at a Flagstaff intersection, killing one and injuring at least four others, police said Saturday.
Police said Joanna Wheaton, 29, from Flagstaff, was killed in the accident on Friday and five other cyclists were also hit, including four who had been taken to hospital for treatment for unspecified injuries.
Tow truck driver Normand Cloutier of Wildomar, Calif., Was charged with causing death by a movable violation, said Sgt. C. Odis Brockman, a Flagstaff police spokesman.
Online court records did not indicate whether Cloutier has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
