Tucson High grad started Sugar Skulls after a scuffle in the field

TUCSON (KVOA) – Tucson Sugar Skulls lineman Antonio Rosales has been fired from the team after engaging in an on-field scuffle against Iowa.

Rosales and some Iowa players had apparently been talking about rubbish the entire game and towards the end he rammed the player from behind and rammed his shoulder on the grass.

As a result, a wild, open slap from Rosales hit a referee who was caught on camera.

Rosales was ejected and later cut from the Sugar Skulls.

Tucson Sugar Skulls team owner Cathy Guy posted this statement:

“He was sacked by the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Coach Wooten made the decision immediately and I fully support his decision. We were in the middle of a very competitive and intense game and unfortunately Antonio couldn’t control his emotions. We appreciate Antonios Contribute to our team and wish them all the best in their future endeavors, but we are committed to professionalism and a fan-friendly product on the field. “

The Tucson Sugar Skulls travel to Phoenix this Saturday to take on the Arizona Rattlers.
