Tucson Papa ushers in Father’s Day with a new addition

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) – What better way to start Father’s Day than welcoming a baby?

In the Laboratory and Delivery Unit of the Tucson Medical Center, meet parents as they greet their newcomers.

“It’s really amazing to be able to hold my baby, especially on Father’s Day,” said Fredrick Impraim.

Impraim watched his wife greet his first son that Father’s Day.

“Before my wife actually went to the ultrasound to find out the gender, I had already bought her men’s clothes. She said, ‘But we don’t even know,’ ”he recalled.

Impraim said he was telling the future. Baby Ebenezer was born weighing over eight pounds and full of hair.

Impraim, now a father of three, said this pregnancy was challenging as the pandemic prevented him from being by his wife’s side.

“From the time of conception until today, I haven’t been able to go to any appointments. Everything had to be done either by phone call or something, but it was really, really tough. Even until now. Usually we have a village here with almost 20 people, ”he said.

He’s also been touring Africa with his nonprofit to make sure others have clean drinking water.

“I had to go back twice so she did all the time you know, my first time went for about two weeks. Actually a month. And the second time was about two weeks. And, through, through that. She was very understanding, “he said.

Despite these obstacles, he said that it is worth seeing the baby’s face now.

“I just want to recognize in principle. Mom you know she was great, “said Impraim. “It’s the best gift I could ever wish my wife to buy me something. This is my baby now. I would be very grateful. I’m 100% looking forward to it. “
