Tucson Police Mourn Sergeant | Local news

Tucson police have confirmed that a sergeant died in his absence this morning.

The sergeant served the Tucson Township for 16 years, according to a statement from the Tucson Police Department. The sergeant’s name is not yet known.

Investigators speak to the family, but there are no suspicious circumstances related to their death, police said.

On Saturday afternoon, a procession in honor of the sergeant took place on the east side of the city.

“The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time, which we will respect,” Tucson police said. “We offer our deepest condolences to the sergeant’s family and friends.”
