Tucson Sugar Skulls announce changes to the IFL schedule, set to begin in May Sugar Skulls

Tucson’s Indoor Football League team, the Sugar Skulls, will have to wait another month to kick off their second official season after the team announced on Wednesday that they would play for the season opener in late May.

Originally planned to start on April 3, the Skulls are now set to open the 2021 season against the Green Bay Blizzard in Wisconsin on May 21 at 5:05 p.m.

The Sugar Skulls home opener at the Tucson Convention Center against the Iowa Barnstormers, former Tucson head coach Dixie Wooten’s team in which he won the United Bowl and was named IFL Coach of the Year, will be on June 5th at 6:05 pm Clock carried out

In Tucson’s 14-game regional schedule, the Sugar Skulls will play their seven street games against teams accessible via a charter bus. Nine games on Tucson’s schedule feature three games each against the Northern Arizona Wranglers, the Duke City Gladiators (Albuquerque, NM) and the rival Arizona Rattlers. The Sugar Skulls’ only home competition against the Rattlers will be held at the Tucson Arena on the weekend of July 4th, July 3rd.
