US Department Of Agriculture Gives $12.8-Million For Wildfire Relief To Arizona Communities – KAFF News – Flagstaff

The US Department of Agriculture will be giving $12.8-million from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for disaster and wildfire relief for the Museum Fire Flood, Telegraph Fire, and Bush Fire flooding. Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly made the announcement Tuesday. Senator Sinema says she is grateful to be granted the funding since so much relief is needed for Arizona communities currently experiencing the effects of wildfires. Senator Kelly adds, “Years and months after these fires, communities near Globe, Miami, Flagstaff, and Saguaro Lake still face serious public safety risk from post-fire flooding that endangers ranchers, tribal communities, and others who utilize and care for our land .” The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law invests $8.25-billion to protect communities against wildfires, support wildfire recovery efforts, and reduce hazardous fuels on federal, state, and tribal lands.
