Winter is just around the corner. Last Christmas Eve was the wettest since 1944. It is a welcome change after an above-average hot autumn. December 1st broke all previous records with a high of 85 degrees.

Thoughts of frosty nights seem like a winter fantasy to Phoenix. However, January is usually the coldest month in the valley. This gets horticultural novices and horticultural experts thinking about protecting their gardens.
