Virtual courses on urban heat in Phoenix, participants wanted

PHOENIX – The very first virtual Urban Heat Leadership Academy was founded to find ways to cool down our hottest neighborhoods in the Valley.

Participants are being sought. July 2nd is the last day to register.

The participants get to know current topics around heat, water and air in cities. You will also be given tools to do something about the problems the Valley is facing in these areas.

The academy’s goal is to build cooler, healthier communities around Phoenix and the rest of the valley.

At the end of the program, participants can apply for small grants to start healthy projects based on what they learned about their communities in the academy.

The virtual courses start on July 24th and last about five months.
