WARRINGTON – In response to an outpouring of support and kindness from the community following the sudden death of Officer Stephen Plum Jr., the Warrington Township Police Department has announced the creation of a GoFundMe page in support of the late officer’s family.
Officer Plum was an eight-year veteran of the police department and handler of K-9 Murphy.
“Officer Plum’s infectious laugh, smile, and heart impacted everyone around him,” says a CrimeWatch posting by the department. “He was a devoted husband and father. He leaves behind his wife Nancy, his four sons, and his daughter.
“Officer Plum will be deeply missed by not only his family, but by his brothers and sisters in law enforcement and our community. Behind every strong police officer, there’s an even stronger family who stands by them, supports them, and loves them unconditionally.

“’Kind’ is the word that keeps coming up whenever Steve’s name is mentioned,” the post continues. “Please share this message as we come together as a community to support this grieving family.”
The donations will be used to support Nancy and their family through this difficult time and for what they may face in the future. For those who feel more comfortable handing a donation personally, donations are being accepted at the Warrington Township Police Department’s headquarters at 2330 Lower Barness Road, Warrington 18976.

“I’m so sorry. This is my birthday money, but I want you to have it,” wrote 10 year old Michael. “It is my dream to be a K9 officer when I grow up.”
“Our hearts are with your family,” wrote Ed and Kim Lambert.
