What does Elliot Page think of continuing to play Vanya in Umbrella Academy Season 3?

The Umbrella Academy cast and crew got together again in early 2021 to shoot a new season of the hit Netflix production. Prior to filming season 3, Elliot Page, who plays Vanya Hargreeves at Umbrella Academy, came out transgender and became the first trans person to appear on the cover of Time magazine. Netflix announced that Page would repeat his role as Vanya – but what does the star think of continuing to play the incredibly powerful Hargreeves sibling? Find out here.

Page closed 2020 in the most powerful way by presenting himself to his fans as non-binary and transgender. The star took to Instagram in December to address his fans in a long post that read in part, “Hello friends. I want to share with you that I am trans. My pronouns are he / she and my name is Elliot. ”He added,“ I can’t begin to say how amazing it feels to finally love what I am, enough to pursue my authentic self. “

The star received a barrage of love and support from several A-listers. Netflix congratulated Page and tweeted, “So proud of our superhero!” The star graced the cover of Time Magazine in March 2021 and spoke to the publication about his journey to his true identity. Page said, “I’m really excited to act now that I am just who I am in this body.”

Before turning out to be a transsexual, Page was one of the most important queer celebrities in Hollywood, starring in hit projects like Juno, Smart People, Inception and To Rome with Love. He currently plays as one of the five Hargreeves siblings in the Umbrella Academy.

The star previously played a female character on the Netflix show

Elliot Page’s character Vanya at Umbrella Academy had a tough ride through season 3. In the first season, Vanya’s supposed powers become apparent after she has reached her full potential. Season two focuses on the siblings traveling back in time, but this time Vanya has more control over her powers.

In both seasons, Pages’ role is characterized as female. However, when the star broke the news of its transition, Netflix announced it would change its credits immediately, including other projects currently being streamed on the platform. Fans were also excited to hear that Page will repeat his role as his character is one of the most compelling and the writers have yet to study how Vanya’s powers work. Hence, fans rely heavily on season three to see where Vanya’s journey takes them.

According to Screen Rant, Page was in high spirits while filming season three. The star said returning to work on the show after coming out was sometimes uncomfortable, but admitted that as his co-stars “see and acknowledge” him, the overall experience is confirmed.

What can we expect from season 3 of the ‘Umbrella Academy’?

Season 2 ended with a big cliffhanger that asked fans more questions than they had answers. Showrunner Steve Blackman confirmed that the upcoming season would pick up exactly where the second season left off. Since the Hargreeves siblings manipulated the timeline quite often, the consequences of the Sparrow Academy are shown in the alternate timeline.

Season 3 is supposed to show how the Sparrow Academy is parallel to the Umbrella Academy. Release date details have been tacit, but the show will likely hit screens in late 2021 as a best-case scenario or early 2022.
