A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in the 21st Avenue and Camelback Road area early Wednesday morning.
Phoenix Police responded to the call around 3 a.m. when officers learned that a woman was crossing the lane in the middle of the block when the vehicle hit her, according to department spokesman Sgt. Anna Justus.
The woman was brought to a hospital in extremely critical condition, said Justus.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the collision point, and impairment of the driver was not a suspected cause, said Justus.
Jupiter said the lane would be closed to traffic for some time pending an investigation.
The police have not released any further information.
