Young man killed in shooting in Desert Sky Mall in west Phoenix | Arizona News

PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A young man was killed and another man injured in a shooting in Desert Sky Mall in west Phoenix on Sunday afternoon. The victim who died is described as a young adult male or adolescent.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Williams said the shooting occurred just before 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the mall near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road. He says a kiosk clerk and a customer had an argument, things escalated, and gunfire broke out.

Two men were shot dead in this shot and taken to a hospital. One of these victims died of his injuries. He was not identified.

Police say they are not sure what role this young man played in the shooting, but that he was not one of the two men involved in the first argument. “He wasn’t one of the two men who exchanged shots,” said Sgt. Williams.

The investigation is still active and the area will be closed for several hours.
