Yuma Border Patrol Chief: Sector ranked third in number of migrant arrests

The Border Patrol’s Yuma Sector head said he would remain third in arrests of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem told reporters Thursday that the Yuma sector has seen around 400 migrants every day so far this month. This puts them in third place behind the Rio Grande Valley and the Del Rio Sector in Texas.

Chief Clem said his agency’s primary goal is to serve the border security mission while being compassionate in the treatment of migrants.

Clem answered a series of questions from local and national reporters on Thursday to help educate the community about the Yuma sector’s efforts.
