YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – The city of Yuma has a new finance director: Douglas Allen, who brings over 25 years of management experience. Allen was also the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the City of Paradise Valley.
City Administrator Philip Rodriguez said, “I am excited to welcome Douglas to the city of Yuma and know he will have an immediate impact on our team and our community. After a very thorough national search for a new finance director, it became very clear that he was the right choice for the city. “
Prior to Paradise Valley, Allen was Director of Administrative Services for the City of Buckeye and CFO of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. In addition to being a certified accountant, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisc.
“To be welcomed as part of this great team and professional environment is a rare opportunity and a blessing. I look forward to participating in many financial business enhancements that are focused on customer trust and confidence, particularly in financial reporting, ”replied Douglas when asked about the new position.
Some of Allen’s previous experience even includes working for Yuma County. In the early 2000s he held the positions of finance director and deputy district administrator.
Rodriguez believes, “Douglas shares our commitment to carefully managing public resources and his experience fits well with our city’s goals under the city council’s new strategic plan. He is also very much looking forward to being in Yuma, and I know our community will greet him “and his family.”
