Yuma County Extends Redistricting Advisory Commission Entry Deadline

Looking for three “at-large” member seats

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma County will soon be using the 2020 census data to redraw the boundary lines for the peace district regulatory and judiciary.

In order to encourage the greatest possible public participation in this process, the Board of Directors has set up the thirteen-member Citizens Relocation Advisory Commission, which holds public hearings on reallocation matters and at the same time develops reallocation plans that are presented to the Board of Directors.

The district is looking for qualified applicants to fill three “at-large” member seats. Members must be an eligible voter (registered voter) in Yuma County and not be related to any member of the Board of Directors, their staff, or a member of the Yuma County Prosecutor’s Office, the Record Office, or any other member of the Redistribution Advisory Committee.

The supervisory board has extended the application deadline for the reallocation commission to the end of the month.

Interested parties must return a completed application to the Yuma District Office Manager by Wednesday, June 30th, 5:00 pm. Click here to download the application.
