Yuma County offers rental assistance

A result of the financial distress due to reports from COVID – News 11 by Arlette Yousif

YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma County officials have partnered with the Western Arizona Government Council to provide what is known as the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

The program, which started in mid-March, helps those financially affected by the pandemic. However, the county has reported that it has received only a small number of applications.

Each household can receive up to $ 3,500 per month for up to 15 months. Payments are made directly to the landlord or supplier.

The financial needs must be checked either by documentation or by the tenant’s landlord. Anyone with overdue housing costs or who may be evicted can apply.

To apply, visit the Yuma County’s website.

On Monday in the early edition of News 11, Arlette Yousif spoke to the county about the program details.
