Yuma County Public Health Reminds Community of Allowed Fireworks
If it’s in the air, it’s likely illegal in Arizona
YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – On July 4th, the Yuma County Public Health Service kindly remembers the legality of fireworks.
Deregulated innovations

- Sparkler tree
- Morning Glory sparkler
- Smoking devices
- Cylindrical
- Smoke balls
- Smoke cone
- Smoke candle

- Snapper / Drop Pops
- Snakes (emit black ash)
- Must not contain more than 0.25 grams of explosive mixture
Allowed “out of air” consumer fireworks
- Ground spark devices
- Ball & Disk (spins on the floor, emits flames and sparks)
- Cylindrical (Crazy Ground Hogs)
- Sparkling wheel (spins on the post, emitting flames and sparks)
- Ground-based sparklers (up to 500 grams of explosive mixture)

Prohibited “air” consumer fireworks (except as part of an approved public fireworks display)
- Fireworks (explosive)
- Aerials (shoots burning bullets with reports)
- Sky Rockets / Bottle Rockets (flammable rocket)
- Rechargeable shell device / Roman candle (shoots flaming bullets)
- Single-tube device with report (shoots burning bullets with reports)
