As the first full academic year in the pandemic for teachers and students comes to an end, we speak to Gina M. Thompson, Superintendent of the Yuma Union High School District. We’ll talk about lessons on resilience and citizenship, upcoming graduation ceremonies, and an ambitious schedule for summer school and hiring season.
Unlike last year, local high school seniors can look forward to their turn to attend ceremonies this year – albeit with limited guests – and the Yuma Union High School District, which educates 11,000 students, looks forward to more, that is closer to normal the coming year.
