Yuma International invites the public to participate in the airport’s Open House master plan
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma County Airport Authority announced Friday that it plans to host an open house to the public to evaluate the latest draft of the Yuma International Airport Master Plan.
Airport Director Gladys Brown says, “This is an excellent opportunity for the community to look at billboards of future growth opportunities and speak to airport planners and the airport team.”
A master plan update assesses the ability of existing airport facilities to meet future demand for civil and military users. There would also be recommendations on how to get runways, hangars, etc.
“The open day will take place on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the airport terminal on the main level.” All recommendations are reviewed by a planning committee made up of representatives from Yuma International Airport, Marine Corps Air Station and the Yuma County Airport Authority, ”Brown continues.
The current airport master plan was completed in 2009. Every seven to ten years, or as circumstances require, the Federal Aviation Administration encourages airports to update their respective master plans.
