Celebrating a tasty fruit grown and revered locally, the Medjool Date Festival returns to Yuma’s Main Street from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023.
A full lineup of live concert bands will perform, headlined by Fleetwood Max, considered San Diego’s finest tribute band to Fleetwood Mac. Their performance is scheduled for 7:30 that night, preceded by local favorites Checker’d Past, the Gwynn Sisters, and the Chavez Family Band.
This family-friendly event is open to all ages and there is no charge for admission or parking. The festival will also feature local celebrity chef demonstrations, community performances, a kids’ zone, festival food, and cold beer for sale.
Major local and regional date fruit growers will be on-site selling their product and providing samples.
“This has become a much-anticipated annual event,” said Joanne Fiser, Yuma Festivals Coordinator. “We’re excited to boost the concert lineup this year, in addition to bringing back features that have been popular in the past.”
Yuma Medjool Date Festival sponsors include presenting sponsors Imperial Date Gardens and State Farm; stage sponsor Quechan Casino Resort and Paradise Casino; and event sponsors Swire Coca-Cola, Monster Media Yuma, El Dorado Broadcasters Yuma, Radio Amigo, SignMasters, Yuma International Airport, ABC 5 and Telemundo 3.
