Yuma remains committed to the Crossroads mission
YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – As mercury began to rise and people sought refuge from the heat, so did the need for water. So the Crossroads Mission went public for help.
As you scroll through the mission’s social media pages, you can see picture by picture of local groups, businesses, and citizens donating what they can. From the trunk to the full loading area, the Yuma community has shown its true colors.
The newest is Yuma’s very own Southwest Street Scene Car Club. They accepted water donations as early as May.
On Saturday, June 5, 2021, members of the Southwest Street Scene met at Flightline Mazda-Mitsubishi, which also sponsored the ride and came to the mission. They were joined by members of the public and other associations.
In total, the group donated almost 300 boxes of water. When asked why they chose to donate to the mission, members simply said that if necessary, they would do whatever is necessary to accomplish the mission.
