Yuma Young Marines Honor Local Vet
The Marine Corps Community Group helps a local veteran – News 11’s Arlette Yousif reports
YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma Young Marines are back. The non-profit organization offers charitable services and at the same time creates structure in the youth, a benefit for everyone.
Retired veteran Diana Klein needed help tidying her front yard due to limitations. She turned to YYM and simply explained that she needed a couple of helping hands for a few hours. Commander Eleanor Sayles was there to answer her call.
“Our main job is to help and help veterans in our community. That’s why we came out today to help a veteran in need, “says Yuma Young Marines Commander Eleanor Sayles.
Commander Sayles says the organization’s purpose is to attract respectable members of the community no matter what career path they choose in the future. Regardless of whether a Young Marine chooses military service or prefers a completely different career, YYM supports him.
On Monday in the early edition of News 11, Arlette Yousif spoke to a former Young Marine about what he has gained from joining the organization.
