YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The woman who allegedly started a fire in a motel last year changed her plea to guilty on Friday morning.
Jamie Tennyson was arrested in August 2020 after allegedly setting fire to a car in the 5th Avenue Motel parking lot that sprawled across the building.
Police said the fire left 15 residents homeless. The suspect’s husband told News 11 that he was sleeping when the fire started. It was his wife’s ex-husband who woke him up and told him it was Jamie’s car that was on fire.
In September 2020, Tennyson pleaded not guilty to arson. Court documents show that the suspect is exposed to an altered crime under an objection agreement.
