The cooling trend will soon make the valley highs fall back to the 80s Phoenix Wetter
A gradual cooling trend sets in today as the high pressure moves west from Arizona and tracks a weather system north of our state.
A cluster of high clouds from the southwest will be invading the state throughout the day today, but no rain is expected.
The national highs remain around 5 to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year, but are a little cooler than yesterday.
Look for partially to mostly cloudy skies, afternoon breezes, and a high of 93 in Phoenix today.
In the mountains, heights range from the upper 60s to the low 80s in windy conditions.
The skies will clear up for Monday and afternoon temperatures will drop a few degrees with Metro Phoenix hitting the low 90s.
A trough moving through the Great Basin on Tuesday and Wednesday creates gusty winds across the country with winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour in the mountains and 15 to 20 miles per hour in the valley.
There is a slim chance of isolated thunderstorms along the Arizona-Utah border, but in general most of the state remains dry.
The cooler air flowing into Arizona can allow afternoon highs to fall back to seasonal averages, with Metro Phoenix leading the way on Tuesday 87th Wednesday, 85th Thursday and 86th Friday.
Lows will be around the valley in the 1960s.
The afternoon highs will return to 90 degree territory next weekend.
There is no rain forecast for the next seven days.
