The Eagles’ second pitcher, Gracie Schmitz, got plenty of support running for a nice, comfortable outing and Flagstaff overturned the Prescott Badgers 14-1 in five innings on Friday at home, winning his sixth straight game and sweeping the crowd for the regular season.

Schmitz threw an entire game into the victory of the grace rule and recorded four hits, two walks and a deserved run over six hits, while Flagstaff in 5th place scored his fifth double-digit victory in the current winning streak. She also contributed two RBIs, hit a home run and was 2 for 3 on the plate.

Lily Anderson beat up two homers for the 4A Conference Eagles, who finished seventh on Wednesday in Prescott, earning the Badgers their first loss of the season 8-5 before flexing their muscles for the hometown crowd. Gianna Baca linked two doubles in victory, finishing 3 for 4 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Anderson, a senior, touched all bases with one hit with the powerful day for the sixth time this season and ended with a new RBI single game high of five.

Flagstaff (10-2, 6-2 Grand Canyon Region) has now scored 84 combined runs during the current winning streak, while only 12 have been allowed. Prescott (10-2, 4-2 Grand Canyon), meanwhile, was limited to one run for the first time that year.

Andi Elliott, Olivia Lanssens, Lianna Albert and Cheyniya Thompson all contributed at least one RBI to the Eagles, who opened the game with 11 home runs, and Flagstaff’s defense made only one mistake.
