Deadly Ahwatukee shooting suspect returns from Massachusetts, booked into jail
Keith Farrow, the suspect in a deadly December shooting at an Ahwatukee apartment complex that killed David Martin, was booked into jail Thursday after returning from Massachusetts, authorities said. Farrow fled Arizona shortly after the Dec. 12, 2025, shooting and was located and arrested in Massachusetts with the help of state police and ATF agents before being extradited back to Arizona.
Farrow was arrested in Massachusetts on Feb. 17, 2026, following a coordinated effort by Massachusetts State Police and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to Phoenix police and local media reports. He was taken into custody in Warren, Massachusetts, about 70 miles west of Boston, and held at Worcester County Jail in Boylston pending extradition proceedings. Court and jail records show Farrow was extradited back to Arizona in August 2026 and booked into Maricopa County jail early Friday morning after arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport the previous day.
Farrow is facing two counts of intentional second-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 12, 2025, shooting that killed 37-year-old David Martin.
According to court documents and local news outlets, The charges stem from a fatal shooting at the Allegro Apartments near 44th Street and Chandler Boulevard in the Ahwatukee area of southeast Phoenix. Phoenix Police identified Farrow as the suspect after an investigation that began immediately following the incident, which occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m.
Phoenix police said Farrow fled Arizona shortly after the shooting, prompting a multi-agency search that spanned several states. Detectives worked with Massachusetts State Police and ATF agents to locate and apprehend him months later. Farrow remained in custody in Massachusetts for several months before being transferred back to Arizona for prosecution. Records indicate he is being held on a $600,000 bond related to the homicide case.
The shooting at the Allegro Apartments led to an emergency response that included rescuing residents from the complex, according to AZFamily. While the incident resulted in the death of Martin, authorities have not reported additional victims or injuries. The Phoenix Police Department continues to lead the investigation into the homicide.
Farrow’s next court appearance in Maricopa County Superior Court is scheduled for Aug. 27, 2026, according to court records. The case is being handled as a state homicide prosecution, with Phoenix Police as the primary investigative agency.
There is some discrepancy regarding Farrow’s age in reports; AZFamily described him as 51 years old at the time of his extradition, while Fox10 referred to him as 49. The victim, David Martin, is consistently identified as 37 years old across multiple sources.
The December 2025 shooting is distinct from other recent incidents in Ahwatukee, including a separate triple homicide linked to an apartment fire. This case involves a single victim and a suspect who fled the state before being apprehended thousands of miles away in Massachusetts.
