A sunny and warm weekend ahead of us Phoenix weather

After a storm that brought some showers, gusty winds and cool temperatures to Arizona on Friday, a major warm-up is taking shape this weekend.

This storm is moving from eastern Arizona to New Mexico and beyond that the high pressure is increasing in the entire region.

This pattern change allows the afternoon highs to hit near normal levels today and above normal levels tomorrow.

Look for valley heights close to 80 degrees with sunny skies and light winds this afternoon.

In the mountains, heights range from the mid 40s to the mid 60s with partly sunny skies and windy winds.

Temperatures will continue to rise for Sunday, with lows in the valley in the 50s and highs in the afternoon until the mid-80s.

In the mountains, expect heights between the mid-50s and mid-70s with sunshine and light winds.

On Monday, the nationwide afternoon highs are about 10 degrees warmer than normal. We forecast a high of 89 degrees in Phoenix that day, but chances are we’ll see our first 90 by 2021. If not that day, then probably Thursday or Friday.

In the meantime, a weak cold front in the north will stir the wind across the country on Monday and lower temperatures by a few degrees on Tuesday.

Even so, the valley will remain Tuesday and Wednesday in the mid through the upper 80s.

No rainfall is expected from this front, and conditions appear to remain dry and unusually warm throughout the week.
