Craig Kelly’s Facebook page has been removed, saying the former Liberal MP has broken misinformation guidelines

Former Liberal MP Craig Kelly has been stripped of a controversial Facebook page. The social media giant accused him of violating its misinformation policy.

Mr Kelly resigned from the Liberal Party earlier this year to sit on the Crossbench after being hit back by the Prime Minister and health experts over the content he posted on his Facebook page about COVID-19 vaccines.

While losing access to his most famous page, Mr Kelly has told ABC that he still has access to a second Facebook page.

A Facebook spokesman said Mr Kelly had repeatedly violated the website’s guidelines.

“We do not allow anyone, including elected officials, to share misinformation about COVID-19 that could result in imminent physical harm or COVID-19 vaccines that have been exposed by public health experts,” the spokesman said.

“We have clear policies against this type of content and have removed Mr. Kelly’s Facebook page for repeated violations of these policies.”
