Kids Programming returns to the Fox Theater – Tucson, Arizona

Tucson, Ariz. (KGUN) – As the community relaxes, the summer program offers face-to-face learning and fun opportunities. This includes the Fox Tucson Theater, which is hosting a free event on Saturday, June 26th.

“We want our children to feel safe, comfortable, warm, funny and committed,” says Jordan Wily Hill from the KIT Youth Program for Art and Culture.

Wiley-Hill is one of many preparing to focus on the Kids in Theater program over the weekend.

At the event, the Pima County Library will provide free children’s books to take away, and library enthusiasts will be offering “coupons” of free books to sell their books. Kit Fox leads everyone with songs and dances and showcases a collection of films created by Stories that Soar. They are based on the creative writing of local students displayed on a big screen.

There is also a feature film and the award-winning animated film “Snail and Whale” (2019). This is a 30-minute story of an unusual friendship, a fun tour of the natural wonders of the world, and their heroic salvation. It reminds us that even the smallest of beings can make a difference.

“There are two programs on the same day, Saturday June 26th. Each program is limited to a total of 100 people, which means there is a house that can accommodate 1,164 people, so the capacity is less than 10%. That means that we are all really distributed, “says Wiley-Hill of the COVID-19 security protocol.

The first show is from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and the second from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

The program may only last a day, but it is all part of a larger plan to help the community prepare for a future reopening.

“It seems like all of this is really fun and I hope there is an opportunity for the family to really stand up and be more comfortable with the way we put the program and these big shows and experience all the joy that comes with Wonder and the glory that theater has to offer, especially Fox theaters like this one. Hm.”
