As the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic gradually ease and vaccinations increase, the AC Hotel Downtown Tucson staff would like to toast our progress and welcome us back downtown.
Every Wednesday and Thursday, the hotel on 151 E. Broadway offers “AC Wine & Dine”, a wine tasting to present regional vintages.
The wines are changed monthly and the participants can try the three presented bottles with a meat and cheese sausage board for two. After having the chance to taste the wines, you can choose one of them and receive a bottle to either drink there or take home with you.
“There aren’t many wine bars downtown so we thought we’d try it,” said Nick Smith, food and beverage director at the three-year-old downtown hotel.
Smith, who has been with the hotel since it opened, runs the AC Lounge, a tapas bar that offers guests small appetizer-sized plates and craft cocktails. Smith said diners should have a drink and an appetizer in the lounge before dining at a downtown restaurant.
