The incident happened when the machine was leaving the facility
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a small unit separated from an aircraft leaving Marine Cops Air Station (MCAS) Yuma. The container is estimated at 12 “x 12” 10 “.
A weapons and tactics course was conducting an aircraft training mission when the incident occurred.
If this is ascertained by the public, please contact the local authorities. Do not try to handle the object yourself. Special handling is required by trained personnel.
The Yuma Police Department has also been notified and the container is currently being searched.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
