PHOENIX, Ore. – On Saturday morning, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly hit and run accident on Pioneer Road near Phoenix, Ore.
The suspect fled the scene, the cyclist was pronounced dead.
The suspect returned and is currently on remand.
JCSO Detectives, the Major Road Accident Reconstruction Team (STAR), medical examiners and the Jackson County (DA) District Attorney are assisting the investigation.
The victim’s name is withheld until the next of kin are notified.
Pioneer Rd. Will be closed between Hilsinger Rd. and Coleman Creek Road. for the next few hours to investigate and reconstruct the accident.
