The WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship will be decided in Phoenix

The WNBA is set to return from its Olympic break with a bang.

The $ 500,000 prize pool for the Commissioner’s Cup championship game will be played at the Phoenix Suns Arena on August 12th.

Teams from each conference with the highest percentage of profits in the Commissioner’s Cup games played between May 14th and July 11th will qualify for the championship.

Commissioner’s Cup games are the first home game and the first street game each team plays against their five conference opponents.

Commissioner’s Cup winning team players can earn more than $ 30,000 per person, while runner-up players can earn $ 10,000 per player. The Commissioner’s Cup championship game MVP will earn an additional $ 5,000.

The Commissioner’s Cup championship game is part of a global streaming deal announced Wednesday with Amazon.

Prime Video has exclusive streaming rights to 16 WNBA games, including the Commissioner’s Cup finals. This deal includes two Mercury games, June 16th in Los Angeles and July 7th in Las Vegas.

The WNBA is open from July 12th to August 12th. 14 other than the Commissioner’s Cup championship for the Tokyo Olympics, July 23-Aug. 8. The regular season with 32 games will continue on August 15th and will last until September 19th.
