Phoenix Police Probe String of Armed Robberies in Tempe and Chandler
Phoenix police are investigating a series of armed robberies and related violent incidents that occurred in Tempe and Phoenix between October and November 2025. According to officials, suspects used firearms and threats to steal property from victims at locations including Tempe Town Lake, a Phoenix Arby’s, and a Tempe house party, resulting in arrests and recovered stolen items.
The investigation includes a shooting near Tempe Town Lake on Oct. 10, where two individuals riding a scooter encountered multiple suspects around 11:42 p.m. near 700 West Rio Salado Parkway. Two suspects were hospitalized with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, and one victim was also wounded. Authorities said the suspects fled the scene but were later located.
According to the Tempe Police Department, the victims fired at the suspects, who returned fire.
In Phoenix, police responded to an armed robbery at an Arby’s near Central Avenue and Baseline Road on Nov. 8. Officials reported that a Hispanic male suspect, described as 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 with a thin build, black mustache and soul patch, wearing a red hat, black hoodie, black pants, and brown or gray tennis shoes, handed employees a note demanding money or threatened to shoot. The note referenced a black handgun with a white strip on the handle. Employees complied, and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. Phoenix Police provided the suspect description and encouraged tips via the Silent Witness hotline.
Another armed robbery involving juveniles occurred in Phoenix near 39th Avenue and Maryland just before 2 a.m. on an unspecified date. Phoenix police said several armed teenagers and a 19-year-old man, identified as Jeremiah Coronado, took property from victims before fleeing in a vehicle. A police pursuit ended with the suspects abandoning the car and running on foot. Four juveniles were detained at the scene, and Coronado was arrested. Officers recovered stolen property related to the incident.
In Tempe, a separate home invasion and robbery took place at a house party, where one man was accused of kidnapping, robbery, and assault. According to a YouTube video titled “Man accused of tying up, robbing partygoers at Tempe house party,” the suspect allegedly tied up and robbed attendees during the event. Police have charged the man, but no further details or arrest dates were provided by authorities.
All reported incidents involved firearms or threats of gun violence, with victims in some cases resisting or complying under duress. The Tempe Police Department and Phoenix Police Department have been actively investigating these cases, with Tempe officers responding swiftly to the Town Lake shooting and Phoenix officers conducting a vehicle pursuit related to the juvenile robbery. Tempe police have not released the names of suspects involved in the Town Lake shooting, citing the ongoing investigation. Similarly, the identities of juveniles in the Phoenix case remain confidential.
Despite the initial reports linking these events to a broader string of armed robberies in Tempe and Chandler, no specific incidents in Chandler have been confirmed by police or included in official statements. The Phoenix and Tempe cases appear to be isolated but related through the use of firearms and violent robbery methods. Police continue to seek public assistance, particularly in the Arby’s robbery, where Silent Witness offers anonymous tips and rewards up to $1,000.
Authorities have not released comprehensive statistics on the total number of robberies connected to this investigation. The timeline spans from early October through early November 2025, with incidents occurring at varied locations including public spaces, commercial establishments, and private residences. Police urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity as the investigations proceed.
