Chandler semiconductor supplier announces 400 new jobs with expansion of manufacturing facility in Price Corridor technology hub
TOCALO Co., Ltd., a Japan-based semiconductor coating supplier, announced it will create 400 new jobs with the expansion of its manufacturing facility at 400 N. 56th St. in Chandler, Arizona. Company officials said the move is part of TOCALO’s strategy to support North American semiconductor customers by establishing a second U.S. facility within the Price Corridor technology hub.
The new facility will occupy 32,045 square feet of industrial space at 400 N. 56th St., within Chandler’s Price Corridor, a key technology and employment hub known for its concentration of semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing companies, according to a joint announcement from the Arizona Commerce Authority and the City of Chandler on April 2. TOCALO’s expansion marks the establishment of its second U.S. semiconductor coating service center, complementing its existing American operations, officials said.
TOCALO Co., Ltd., a Japan-based global leader in advanced surface modification and coating technologies, provides protective and performance-enhancing coatings for critical components used by semiconductor equipment manufacturers and advanced semiconductor fabrication customers, the Arizona Commerce Authority stated.
The Chandler facility will house advanced coating and surface modification equipment designed to support semiconductor manufacturing processes, officials added, enabling the company to better serve North American customers by reducing lead times and logistical complexities.
The company’s move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its operational footprint in the U.S. semiconductor supply chain, according to state and local economic development materials. The Chandler site will support manufacturing and technical roles, including skilled technicians, engineers, and support staff focused on coating processes and facility operations, sources confirmed. Although TOCALO and state materials do not specify exact job numbers, the scale of the facility and industry norms indicate a workforce potentially in the hundreds.
Chandler Economic Development officials highlighted TOCALO’s expansion as aligned with the city’s strategy to create high-wage jobs in high-tech manufacturing sectors. The Price Corridor, where the facility is located, is a designated employment corridor that hosts numerous semiconductor and high-tech firms, including major equipment manufacturers, according to city documents. The corridor’s ecosystem offers a ready network of customers, partners, and talent for TOCALO’s operations.
Chandler brands itself as the “Community of Innovation,” with a history exceeding 50 years in high-tech manufacturing and more than 40 years specifically in semiconductor manufacturing, the city’s official website and economic reports show. This longstanding presence has attracted global chipmakers and suppliers, making the city a regional technology center. The Price Corridor and other employment corridors have seen recent growth, with companies like ASML expanding their engineering workforces through office subleases in the area.
The Chandler facility is part of Arizona’s broader semiconductor manufacturing expansion, which includes investments by major chipmakers and equipment manufacturers. State economic development officials described TOCALO’s Chandler operation as a critical component in growing supplier presence around the state’s expanding semiconductor base, thereby enhancing the resilience and localization of the U.S. semiconductor supply chain.
The announcement was made public through coordinated releases by the Arizona Commerce Authority and the City of Chandler on April 2, 2026. Media contacts for the announcement included Alyssa Tufts of the Arizona Commerce Authority and Stephanie Romero, Public Information Officer for the City of Chandler. Local media and social posts have also highlighted the company as a Japanese semiconductor supplier expanding its U.S. footprint with this new facility.
TOCALO’s services focus on extending component life and improving performance in harsh semiconductor manufacturing environments through advanced surface coatings. The Chandler site will provide these specialized services closer to semiconductor equipment manufacturers and fabs in North America, supporting the critical semiconductor supply chain infrastructure.
The company’s investment into the 32,045-square-foot facility signals a full production and service operation rather than a sales or engineering office, according to state and local economic development materials. This industrial and manufacturing investment is expected to contribute to Chandler’s established semiconductor ecosystem, which includes semiconductor fabrication, equipment manufacturing, aerospace, automotive technology, and advanced business services.
As TOCALO begins operations in Chandler, the company joins a growing list of suppliers and manufacturers that collectively support the city’s reputation as a high-tech hub. The expansion is consistent with regional efforts to attract and develop key nodes of the semiconductor value chain, including equipment, materials, and specialized service providers, according to city and state economic development sources.
